The only thing you might need is a copy of THIS LIST but you can survive without it if necessary.
Remember you just need to explain the concept by using the two sentences on the chalkboard above. And then move on to give examples of and help students memorise the four different types of verbs using the games and activities in the video.
- verbs which take only ING
- verbs which take the to infinitive
- verbs which take either the ING and infinitive (no big change in meaning)
- verbs which take either the ING and infinitive (serious change in meaning) (see video PART TWO)
Finish with game – board race and feedback.
Don’t forget to ask for the three infamous verbs which take ING – ask them every day for the rest of their lives!!!
The second half of the lesson plan looks at the verbs to stop and to remember – which both carry a different meaning depending on whether they are followed by ING or the to infinitive.
